Today the Kenya Organization for Environmental Education (KOEE) and Olare Orok and Motorogi Trust (OOMT) entered a partnership towards empowering schools and local beneficiary communities in Narok County. This initiative is informed by the fact that pastoral communities living in the Maasai Mara in Kenya are prone to prolonged drought and famine. Majority of the communities are pastoralists keeping large herds of cattle, sheep and goats. The pastoralist life has had a negative impact on the environment. Land degradation and drought/famine are common phenomena in the ASALs. Thus KOEE and OOMT will put an intergrated effort together to ensure generation of amicable solutions that will address issues of poverty, climate change and livelihood improvements
