PARTNERSHIP BETWEEN KOEE AND PALDI

The Pastoralist Livelihood Development Initiative (PALDI) and the Kenya Organization of Environmental Environmental Education (KOEE) today entered into a partnership on implementing projects that empower local beneficiary communities.

This initiative is informed by the fact that pastoral communities living in North Eastern Kenya are prone to prolonged drought and famine and majority of the communities are pastoralists keeping large herds of cattle, sheep and goats. The pastoralist life has had a negative impact on the environment with many pastoralists depending on external aid for survival thus leading to starvation and malnutrution amongst the community. KOEE and PALDI have both implemented projects addressing this challenges with remarkable success and are looking forward on ensuring generation of amicable solutions that will address issues of poverty, climate change and livelihood improvements
