KOEE AT 8TH ANNUAL GLOBAL RCE CONFERENCE AT UNEP

Between 27th -29th November, KOEE participated in the 8th Global RCE Conference held the UN Complex in Gigiri, Nairobi. The conference was an opportunity to bring together a wide variety of stakeholders – from cities, communities, governments, industry, international organizations, and academia – to discuss debate and launch activities that reinforce the fundamental role that education plays in achieving a sustainable future worldwide. The conference was hosted by RCE Greater Nairobi in collaboration with other African RCEs together with UNEP and the United Nations University-Institute of Advanced Studies. The conference had both continental and thematic ESD discussions covering issues like: Sustainable Consumption and Production, Traditional Knowledge and Biodiversity with a focus on culture, Higher,education, Disaster Risk Reduction, Climate Change, Health and Sanitation, Teacher Education and Better Schools, Youth, Capacity Development, Research and Development, Public-Private Partnership, RCE Assessment & Evaluation. Engagement with International SD/ESD Processes and Governance and Coordination. Discussions on ESD beyond 2014 and the RCE Contribution to the Global Action Program were also deliberated upon.KOEE exhibited some of her extensive work in ESD in the last 15 years together with other stakeholders at the conference
