At Jamhuri High School in Nairobi on October 4th, faith groups, environmental organizations, and learning institutions came together to plant trees in order to mark their commitment to environmental conservation. This event was created as part of a long-term plan by the Kenya Conference of Catholic Bishops (KCCB) to care for the environment through the commission for Pastoraland Lay Apostolate and Mother-Earth-Network.This inaugural event, which included activities such as tree planting, exhibitions, role-playing,drama and songs, was organized around the theme “Faith Care for Nature.” At the event,KOEE was able to showcase its innovations in the mainstreaming of faith values into environmental education, such as the creation of a toolkit for sustainable development.
